Description

Cialis (Tadalafil) relaxes muscles and increases blood flow to certain areas of the body. Cialis is used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men. Adcirca, another brand of tadalafil, is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension and to improve exercise capacity in men and women.

How to use:

Do not take Cialis if you are allergic to tadalafil, or if you are also taking a nitrate medication for chest pain or heart problems, including nitroglycerin (Nitrostat, Nitrolingual, Nitro-Dur, Nitro-Bid, Minitran, Deponit, Transderm- Nitro) Isosorbide dinitrate (Dilatrate-SR, Isordil, Sorbitrate) and isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur, ISMO, Monoket) or recreational drugs such as amyl nitrate or nitrite (“poppers”). Taking Cialis with a nitrate medication can cause a sudden and severe drop in blood pressure.
If you experience dizziness or nausea during sexual activity, or if you experience pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, hands, neck, or jaw, stop immediately and call your doctor. You can have a serious side effect from this medication.
Do not take Cialis more than once a day. Wait 24 hours between doses. Contact your doctor or see an emergency physician if your erection is painful or lasts longer than 4 hours. Prolonged erection (priapism) can damage the penis.
Cialis can reduce blood flow to the eye’s optic nerve, causing sudden loss of vision. This occurred in a small number of people who took Cialis, most of whom also had heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or certain pre-existing eye problems, and in those who smoked or are over 50 years old. It is unclear whether Cialis is the real cause of vision loss.

Before taking Cialis:

  • If you have any of these conditions, you may need a dose adjustment of Cialis or special tests:
